“The exceedingly busy Iron Man 2 comes perilously close to that tipping point—call it the Spider-Man 3 axis—but much like its predecessor, it’s a clean, efficient, somewhat generic piece of storytelling and most of the additions are not subtractions. This passes for success in the summer movie season. “
Well then I’ll go see it. I sat by myself for Iron Man the first time, and I’ll do it again if I have too. I have a feeling there might be too many characters, and that Rourke is gonna make my head hurt, but if the AV Club says it just falls into watchable territory, then I have to go.
The real reason I’m going though, is the names of some of the wrestlers—I mean characters. Justin Hammer, Ivan Vanko, Natasha, “Rhodey” Rhodes, Piper Potts, and Tony Stark could very easily be a Monday Night Raw line-up. Do they even have Monday Night Raw anymore?
They do, it’s on the same channel at the same time as it always was (although it changed networks for a while, it moved back) and gets surprisingly REALLY good ratings, considering how much less “cool” it is now than it was in 1999.
Also her name is Pepper Potts.
Also I will go see Iron Man 2 with you.
